The Spa at Cheeca recently reopened debuting a new concept focused on organic sustainable luxury and featuring a locally-inspired treatment menu.
Spearheading the exciting new changes is Tricia Banister, new Spa Director, whose pedigree includes The Spa @ The Setai and TheSpaAtDavidBartonGym at Gansevoort South in Miami Beach.
“Following the lead of Cheeca Lodge, the legendary resort where it is located, the Spa at Cheeca uses the purest and highest quality of products available from sustainable farms and fair trade sources,” said Bannister. Treatments feature such sophisticated beauty products as Voya from Ireland, the world’s first range of certified organic, hand-harvested seaweed based products; SpaRitual, a provider of luxurious organic vegan products for body, feet, hands and nails; Ama La, an EcoCert, holistic botanical skincare line, and La Bella Donna, the first mineral-based, allergen-free cosmetic collection originally designed for post cosmetic surgery.
Reinterpreting the resort’s over 60-year old traditions, new treatments range from custom organic facials and revitalizing massage services and body treatments to in-suite spa baths and Calusa Healing among other mind, body and spirit techniques. Some of the signature new treatments include a Lava Shell Massage ($150/60 min), which utilizes Cheeca’s signature warming oil and ionizing lava shells straight from the sea, and The Sportsman ($145/60 min), which combines neuromuscular, myofacial, Thai and sports massage techniques. A variety of relaxing, stimulating, detoxifying, mineralizing and skin-softening spa baths from the Skinny Girl to the Signature Seaweed Soak are available in-suite in the terrace open-air bathtubs for two, a signature feature of the resort’s new Premier Spa Suites. Private yoga and Pilates sessions, personal training, acupuncture, Naturopathic Physician and nutritional consultations and wellness coaching are also available.
The new Spa at Cheeca allows guests to spa wherever they are, offering poolside DIY treatments – think Peel Off Anti-Aging Facial ($40), an Oceanside tiki hut for alfresco treatments and spa baths en-suite. The Spa at Cheeca also features poolside cabanas, Tahitian-style Spa Lagoon, adults-only lap pool, a secluded oasis Jacuzzi, and an outdoor sundeck for lounging post-treatment.
The 5,700 square-foot oasis of relaxation and revitalization features traditional Florida décor. Prior to each treatment, guests are treated to foot baths in healing copper bowls in the spa’s Ritual Room.
The Spa at Cheeca is set among the lush, tropical gardens of the newly reopening Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada, Florida Keys.
